Las Vegas

I cannot believe that we are finally in Vegas! We are so excited to be here. It has been great to see the Mengs and play with them a little. We have been here for 2 weeks now, but are still not all the way unpacked. I had forgotten how much stuff we have, and how big a pain it is to move.

Tammy is doing great. She is the best wife and mom ever. Gideon is doing great too. He is really rolling everywhere now and will be crawling very soon. He cut his first tooth a few days ago, and the 2nd is right behind it. He is such a good little boy.

Our ward is awesome. All the members are so nice. We are really looking forward to getting to know them better.

School for me starts on Monday. I am very excited, but scared to think that I am actually starting dental school.

Lazy

So Tammy is here telling me that I have been way too lazy with my blog. I realized that she is very correct, but I don't have anything to say that she has not said on her blog. So, I guess I will give just a quick update.

I start dental school at UNLV on Aug. 30. We are so excited. We are currently living with Tammy's parents in CA for the summer to work and save money. We have been having a great time with them. Gideon is the cutest kid in the world (and I am not biased at all). It seems that he finds some way to be cuter every day. I am going to miss all the time that I have had to spend with him and Tammy once I start dental school. From what I have been told, the first 2 years Tammy will be a single mom. After that it should get better. However, I am really hoping to be able to get my MBA concurrently with my DDM at UNLV. They have that program and I am going to try to get into it. If I do get into that program, I will not see her for the entire 4 years of dental school. That is not fun at all. I am such a home body.

I guess I will put in some of my favorite pictures of Gideon. There is no order to the pictures, they are just ones that I love. Like I said, he is the cutest kid ever.

I'm A DAD!

It is official! Gideon was born on Friday night. He is so wonderful. Tammy is a perfect mother. I am so lucky to be married to her. Gideon has been doing great, as is Tammy. They are both happy and healthy. Here are a few pics.

Way too long

So I realized that it has been way too long since the last time that I posted on my blog. So here goes... This may take a while.

So soon after the last time I posted Shaun Meng and I tore out our entire kitchen. It was so much fun working with Shaun. I will not go into details (check out Tammy's blog for those) but it has been a nightmare since that day. We still do not have a functioning kitchen. Tonight we went to the Mengs and made dinner at their house since we don't have our oven yet. I won't say any more or else this post will all be about the anger I feel towards the contractor who is almost finished with the cabinets.

However, we have had a great time since Dec. 10 as well. We went to AZ this year for Christmas. It was so much fun. It was great to have my brother and 4 of my 5 sisters for christmas. We even got to have Bridget (Welch) and her family at home to open presents with. I find Christmas so much more enjoyable when there are young kids opening presents. Their faces just light up. Santa came to Tammy and I both. We had a great Christmas.

We came back to Rexburg to find a snow pile taller than our car blocking our driveway! Luckily there was a guy with a backhoe clearing a driveway next door so we hired him to clear ours too. New years was spent with the Mengs. We had a great time.

Since then school has started. I have had my internship waived since I was not able to find one in such short notice. My internship that I had planned with a dental office was not approved so I had one month (with Christmas in the middle) to find a new internship. I applied everywhere but no one wanted someone that would only be there for a few months. So, the business department was great and waived it for me. So now I am taking histology and Spanish 1. We have decided to go to UNLV for dental school and UNLV requires all their dental students to take Spanish during dental school so I though that I would get a little head start. We are so excited to be closer to all of our family!

Tammy is now in her 37th week of pregnancy. On Jan. 22 Gideon will be considered full term. Any time now he could be born! We are so excited to welcome him into our family. We can't say that we "know" how much he is going to change our lives, but we have seen how children have changed the lives of family and friends so we have a little idea. Either way, we are so excited and willing to change in any way for him.

This week we are going to put our house back together and get our nursery ready. School is going great and is really easy since I only have 8 credits. Tammy is doing great. She is getting more and more uncomfortable, but loves life none the less. She is the perfect wife.

ACCEPTED

So just a quick post to update everyone. I have been accepted to both the UNLV and NYU schools of dentistry. We are hoping to be accepted to the University of Colorado, but if we are not then as of now we are leaning towards UNLV because it is so much cheaper. We love NY a lot more than Vegas, but $120,000 says otherwise. Either way, I will get a great education and am for sure going to be a dentist! We are so excited to have been accepted and feel so blessed.

The most exciting thing in life right now is that Tammy is now 7 months pregnant! We are so excited to welcome Gideon into our family. Tammy had a baby-shower in Pleasanton over the weekend. It was a lot of fun and we received many great gifts. Thanks to everyone for all their love and support.

School ends in 3 days and we could not be more excited. Life is great. We hope that everyone is doing well too.

School

Today is December 1! Wow, I cannot believe that this day has come. Starting today dental schools are allowed to send acceptance letters out. I hope to hear from some soon.

Life is great. Tammy is doing so well with the pregnancy. Gideon is moving a ton! It is so much fun to sit and hold Tammy's belly and feel him move so much. You should check out her blog to see some pics of how her belly is growing.

School is almost finished, only two weeks left. We can't wait to be done and go home for Christmas. 

Our new car is great. We love it. I still look at it and have to catch myself when I think "I would like to have a car like that." It is a lot of fun.

Oh, my other blog (the fishfools one) is no longer. I had a problem with my computer and lost it all, so once I create a new one that one is gone. Enjoy it while you can.

UNLV

Today I found out that we have an interview at UNLV School of Dental Medicine! We have already done a tour of the school there. We were able to go through Vegas on our way home from our trip to AZ. It is a great place because it is between our families and there are a lot of things to do there. Tammy isn't a huge fan of the heat, but is willing to go where ever we are supposed to be. One other thing that would be great about being in Las Vegas is that our friends the Mengs might be there too for law school. It would be great to have friends there with us.

Because of interviews, these next few weeks are going to be crazy! Next Tuesday we leave Rexburg to start our trip to New York. We will be there for five days. We will come back on Monday, October 27, but then leave Rexburg again on the 29th to go to Las Vegas. On our way back from Vegas on Halloween, we will get to Salt Lake and fly to Denver for an interview there on November 1. I cannot believe how blessed we are in having so many interviews now.

Tammy is doing so well with the pregnancy. She isn't sick at all anymore, but is just getting bigger and bigger with child! It is so awesome. She has to be the most beautiful pregnant woman ever. Baby Gideon seems to be doing very w

ell too. I finally am feeling him move on a regular basis (the placenta is in the way, so I only feel really good kicks 

and punches). We are so excited to meet him.

Life is going so well. We couldn't ask for more. I am so ready to be done with school. Only a couple more months of classes and I will be done.
